Code and conventions of a music magazine double page spreads.
• Main image
-- So that it is not to busy with images and you are clear on what the article is about.
• Name of magazine at the bottom of the page.
-- A constant reminder of what the magazine is called
• The page number and issue date.
-- So you know what page your are on an that it is the most recent edition
• Bold headlines
-- Draw your attention to the article and it is clear of what the article is called.
• First letter of the article is bold an larger (drop capital)
-- So you are clear on where the article starts
• At the end of the article they have who wrote the article.
--You are clear were the article ends
• Introduction- witty, always by the headline
-- draw your attention to the article as it sets the tone for the article as if you don’t like the introduction you aren’t going to read the article
• Quotes from articles. (usually on the images)
-- So you see pieces of information and want to read all of the article so you know the full story to the quotes.

Indie magazines follow this as have the main image that relates to the article so it makes it clear who and what the article is about. NME also features the name of the magazine at the bottom of the page so it is clear to the read the name of the magazine and also so it sticks in the readers head. The indie magazines also show the date of release of the magazine so it shown that it is the most recent edition. All the double page spreads have big bold headlines so that the reader immediately looks at it and wants to read the article. Most of the indie magazine double page spreads feature a drop capital so that it is clear to the audience that that is where the article begins. All of the articles have an introduction to captivate the readers to read the article. Also the article has quotes from the article so that the readers get hooked and ask themselves questions like what does that mean and what to read on to find out what it means. Overall most indie magazines follow the codes and conventions of double page spreads and therefore I will make mine follow the codes and conventions.
